Microsoft Surface RT

I’m getting a tablet, woo hoo! It’s fair to say my laptop has seen better days and last week an unbelievable deal fell into my lap, I couldn’t refuse. So of course I have no idea what the deal is with this tablet so I decided I’d look up all about it and write a little blog:)

Here is a concise breakdown of the MS Surface RT specifications:

  • Display type 10.6 inch Colour TFT active matrix
  • OS Microsoft Windows RT
  • RAM 2 GB
  • Processor NVIDIA Tegra 3
  • Wireless connectivity IEEE 802.11nIEEE 802.11bIEEE 802.11aIEEE 802.11g
  • Dimensions (WxDxH) 9.3 mm 10.8 in 6.8 in
  • Weight 676 g

Most of this means nothing to me unfortunately. I understand the bit about the 10.6 inch screen and that its really light but that’s about it. I decided to look a some reviews of the MS Surface RT in the hope that it would be a little clearer.

So what I found out from the reviews are as follows:

  • This tablet is great for creating documents and doing powerpoint presentations, all that MS Office stuff that you can’t do on other tablets.
  • It has a long battery life.
  • It has a kickstand that allows you to use it on a table.
  • It is very well built.
  • It is quick to use.
  • The MS Surface RT can be used as a touchscreen tablet or you can connect it to a touch or type click on keyboard which also serves as a cover.
  • Generally speaking I was shocked at how positive the reviews were. Every review I read had very little or nothing bad to say about this tablet.

Here is a picture of the attachable keyboard:
